War Widows and Widowers pension
If your spouse or civil partner died as a result of military service, you may be entitled to a War Widow/Widower's Pension, a lump sum death in service payment, and survivor benefits under the AFPS.

Childcare and education support
Children of service personnel and veterans may be entitled to additional support under the Armed Forces Covenant through schools. Schools should give flexibility around admissions and transitions for service children.

Bereavement counselling
The Royal British Legion, SSAFA and Scotty's Little Soldiers provide free counselling and practical support to bereaved military families, including children who have lost a parent in service.
